PET ADOPTION

Morley Vetcentre has an adoption program running for stray and unwanted dogs, puppies and kittens. Each animal has been thoroughly vet checked, wormed, vaccinated and will have some basic dog training before leaving our care.

These animals may have been subject to neglect or simply abandoned. Rather than just put them to sleep, we seek responsible new owners to give them a second chance. In return for taking one of our “recycled” pets, we offer a special discount off their vaccinations and sterilisation and microchipping.

The staff at Morley Vetcentre cares about the animals’ best health. The satisfaction we get from seeing a happy animal and a happy new owner is heartwarming.

 Success Stories

We recently received this letter from a client who was updating us with the progress of one of our adoption cats:

To Morley Veterinary Centre Staff,

The three year old cat that my daughter adopted from your centre on 6-6-2008 has not long celebrated her 5th birthday. I know that you must rehome lots of kittens and cats, but I wanted to tell you how fortunate Emerald (renamed Burberry Emerald) was to come to my house.

Emerald was renamed to match my daughter's rescue cats (they live in Perth), that came with the names Dolce and Gabbana. My daughters felt that Emerald didn't quite match their cats' names. I allowed them to use Burberry, after vetoing Chanel, Prada etc.

She was a replacement for my previous cat that lived to be 21 years old, her playmate was 18 years old when she left us.

This cat doesn't know how lucky she is. I live in the Bunbury metro area, but have natural bush/undeveloped land opposite and behind me. In November 2008, only months after getting her, she had a run-in with a snake and she developed paralysis. Fortunately it wasn't a snake bite, but appeared to be snake venom ingested from grooming after being sprayed by the snake,  It cost me over $450 to have her treated and at that stage I could easily have said not to bother as others advised me, because she had only been with me for a few months.

After her treatment she was fine and hasn't looked back, and if my previous cats are anything to go by she has another 15+ years ahead of her.

Thankyou for taking on older cats, because like me not everyone wants a kitten!!
